Target Audience

Social Workers (including LCSS and EH workers), Health Visitors, Education and other professionals working with children and young people

 

Aim: This course will explore the issues involved in female genital mutilation, with speakers from the police, health and Oxford Against Cutting.

 

Objectives:

To gain an insight into the issues involved in female genital mutilation

To have an overview of how local issues in Oxfordshire are being tackled

To have an awareness of how to support children and young people where FGM is a concern

To know how and to whom to report concerns

To understand the importance of the multi-agency role
