Level 3: Designated Safeguarding Lead eLearning (2024 - 2025)

Detail:

There are 2 available routes to undertake and complete the 'Designated Safeguarding Lead' course.

Option 1 - online in 2 stages:

  • Stage 1: successfully complete this eLearning course
  • Stage 2: attend a trainer led webinar (via TEAMS).

Once both parts are completed, the certificate will be valid for 2 years from the date of completion of the eLearning; it is therefore advisable to book onto a webinar as soon as possible after completion of this eLearning.

Option 2 - attend a 'face to face' Designated Safeguarding Lead course: There is no requirement to complete eLearning before attending and the certificate is valid for 2 years from the date of the attended course.

Please refer to the OSCB's Training Policy 2023 for further information.

This eLearning is for those staff who are safeguarding leads in their organisation or are undertaking the DSL role in the near future. In the unlikely event that staff have not previously completed the 'Level 2: Generalist safeguarding' course prior to undertaking this online 'DSL' course, we recommend that they complete the OSCB eLearning course Level 2: 'Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect' prior to undertaking the Level 3 course, for an overview of underpinning knowledge and practice of safeguarding processes within Oxfordshire.

This course should take approximately 90 minutes to complete and you are advised to follow all links provided to have full access to information needed for your role as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
