What is the aim of the workshop?

This is a one-day training run by the Attach team. It will give an in-depth look at the theory of attachment and trauma and how this can impact on young people, their relationships and behaviours. The training will also explore similarities and differences when thinking about attachment relationships for looked after children and unaccompanied asylum seeking children.

Learning objectives:

  • To develop and understanding of the impact of early experiences on attachment
  • To explore the impact of attachment on child development
  • To develop understanding of experiences of UASC as potentially different to children who have had early relational trauma
  • To develop skills in working with young people who have had attachment difficulties

 

Trainer: Clinical Psychologists from the Attach team and UASC team

 

Audience: Multi-agency training for professionals, frontline workers and volunteers from wide-ranging settings including education, housing, police, health, social care, early help, voluntary sector etc. This is a one-day workshop facilitated by OCC’s Attach team, who offer support to foster and adoptive families when young people are no longer living with their birth parents.
