This training will be delivered as a FACE TO FACE course.
Please also note that the OSCB will no longer be providing printed handouts on their face to face courses and delegates will be able to find course materials in the pre-reading attachments to this course 6 days prior to the course date and providing a booking has been made.
This is for members who work with children, young people and/or their families. It is offered via the OSCB as multi-agency training but is delivered via our partner agencies as internal single agency safeguarding training, helping to ensure continuity of message. Intercollegiate level 2 core knowledge. Generalist training is valid for up to 3 years. This is a prerequisite course before attending the safeguarding designated lead course for the first time or if delegates are new to working in Oxfordshire.
Aim:
To raise awareness about your roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and young people within your organisation
Objectives:
• Describe what is meant by ‘safeguarding’
• State who to consult within your agency
• Identify what to do if you are concerned about a child
• Demonstrate an awareness of current protocols & procedures
• Describe the role and function of the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board (OSCB)

Expectations of delegate attendance:
As per the OSCB Terms and Conditions there is a £50 penalty for non-attendance / late cancellation for each booking if less than 6 days before the event date. If a delegate misses 15 or more minutes of a face to face or online course, they will be marked as absent, and a £50 charge will be made.
