Overview

Awareness of the widespread issue of domestic abuse provides a foundation to begin tackling it, but pragmatic tools such as risk assessment and safety planning provide the ability to combat offending and re-offending in this insidious issue.

This module will emphasise the importance of risk assessment and safety planning, providing the relevant tools and resources to undertake these activities. You will also be able to describe processes for information sharing, including routes into MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference).

Aims

By the end of the session, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the need to risk assess and safety plan and possess relevant tools and resources to complete this
  • Perform risk identification using the DASH RIC tool, supporting immediate safety planning
  • Understand the processes for information sharing, including routes into MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference)

Approach

Once you have booked a place on your chosen day, you will be invited to a 2.5 hour seminar on that day from 9.30 a.m. till 12 p.m. Seminars will start promptly.
